Graphic Designer

Full Time Position

The Job

Urban Hub is seeking a junior to mid-level graphic designer to support our print, digital and physical marketing work for Factory Phnom Penh & Urban Village. We need a designer who can take direction, follow branding standards and understands the design tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design short form and long-form print materials in Adobe In-Design
  • Design web-based and digital materials to support web-based and social media channels
  • Manage printers including costing and quality oversite
  • Follow company branding guides to ensure adherence to branding standards

Education, Experience & Other Requirements

  • B.A. or similar degree in Graphic Design or related degree– the exact degree does not matter, just let us know how this applies, or not. The selection will be weighted on character and experience.
  • 0-4 years’ professional experience – We need someone with some experience working in a professional environment; as an intern is ok. We will train the right candidate with educational experience, but a strong familiarity with design tools from day 1 is required.
  • Good Spoken English& Reading– We will be working largely with English content.
  • Excellent in Adobe Design applications (In Design, Illustrator and Photoshop) – Must have a clean workflow using styles so that others can work on the same design files; Adobe In Design is a must.
  • Willingness to learn! We are only interested in candidates who are constantly looking to improve their skills and work smarter, not longer. When not busy, this person should be doing tutorials on new techniques in design or assembling reference images for future projects.
  • A sense of humor – If you can’t laugh at yourself, what can you laugh at?
Preferred but not required
  • Photography – We will often have quick photo needs, familiarity with photo composition and knowledge of DSLR is preferred.
  • Print Management – Familiarity with working with printers and quality control/oversight.

Schedule & Compensation

This is for a full time professional position. Most work weeks will be around 44 hours, but some weeks will be more, particularly as projects near launch. Primary working hours will be Monday - Friday 9-6 with a 1-hour lunch; Saturday 8AM – 12PM (as needed, some Saturday’s off).

  • Term – The first contract is for a one-year commitment with a three-month probationary period.
  • Salary – $250-$450 commensurate with experience
  • Paid Vacation – This position will be provided with 18 days paid leave (for holiday or sickness) in year  1.
